ARCHITECT’S LEADERSHIP JOURNAL

DEVELOPING YOUR LEADERSHIP THROUGH WEEKLY REFLECTION AND INTENTION

Are you an ambitious architect ready to take your leadership skills to the next level? The Architect's Leadership Journal is specifically designed to support the self-development of architects, helping you build a habit of reflection and intention setting for a thriving career.

My initial barrier had been the classic ‘blank page’ syndrome however I soon realised there are no real rules to it and the Architects Leadership Journal is a really good way to give you some starters without being too prescriptive and a degree of structure to keep you on track.

KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS:

  • Key questions: Key prompted questions to encourage reflection and growth guide you through three critical themes: Self-Leadership, Team-Leadership and Strategic-Leadership.

  • Progress Reviews: Quarterly reviews keep you aligned and accountable for achieving the goals you have made.

  • Celebration: All those wins you need to recognise and acknowledge will be collated and readily available for self-confidence boosts and, essentially, for review time.

  • Well-being checks: Regular checking in with your stress level will draw your attention to patterns and the actions that will build your resilience.

  • Lined and blank pages: Space to doodle, download and sketch, along with CPD event logging and learning.

HOW IT WORKS:

Spend just 10 minutes a week reflecting on prompted questions and watch your leadership skills flourish. The journal is structured for minimal overwhelm and gradual progression, with lined and blank pages for doodling and expanding your thoughts.

Use the Actions and Reminders section to stay organised, and the quarterly progress reviews to stay focused and accountable. With Goal Setting and Appraisal Preparation sections, you'll be well-prepared for company reviews and discussions.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The Architect's Leadership Journal is perfect for architects who are looking to boost their career trajectory and self-development, and for leaders in architectural companies seeking to empower their team members with self-awareness and leadership growth.

  • Architects who are in search of genuine insights into their unique leadership style.

  • Architects who desire a structured approach to nurturing self-awareness and unlocking leadership potential.

  • Emerging architects seeking a foundation in leadership fundamentals.

  • Team/studio leaders who wish to measure their leadership impact.

  • Architects committed to steering their career towards senior management roles through focused goal-setting.

  • Architects keen on documenting and conveying goals, accomplishments, and insights for effective reviews and appraisals.

  • Architects who want to decrease stress and increase resilience and confidence.

WHY A JOURNAL?

I based this journal on my research and observations as an architect’s Coach: that architects need ongoing and consistent time for reflection but don’t have the time to do so effectively.

The fact is that architects don’t take enough time to reflect on their leadership or plan for their career path intentionally and regularly. Because of this, the sector has significant untapped leadership development potential.

You can increase your agency over your leadership development with limited time or energy. By tracking your self-development and leadership capabilities in as little as ten minutes a week, you accumulate your leadership data over the year. Journaling is well known to help you organise your thoughts, develop emotional intelligence, reduce anxiety, improve memory, and support your overall well-being. This has got to be a win!

Not everyone has the privilege of a coach or mentor to foster the essential self-awareness required for navigating career challenges and seizing opportunities. The Architect's Leadership Journal becomes all the more significant, serving as your personal guide to fostering growth, introspection, and leadership capabilities.

The Architect’s Leadership Journal is a direct call to architects at every stage, especially those at mid-level, female architects, and those striving for the profession's highest levels. As emerging or established leaders, it's your responsibility to proactively shape your career path. If your goal is to excel in the profession, the journal's consistent reflection provides the route to attain that objective.

I am delighted to bring this journal to you!
